Peavy preaches but does not Practice spoken word

CLEVELAND — Jake Peavy spoke up Monday night, and his teammates responded.

Hours after the White Sox's highly decorated pitcher emphasized the need to start winning series, the Sox responded with a four-run first inning en route to a 7-2 victory over the Indians.

John Danks (4-3) worked the first five innings, then the bullpen allowed no runs and one hit the rest of the way.

"There ain't no ifs, ands or buts about it," Peavy said before the Sox cruised to their third win in their last four games. "(Cleveland) has a few injuries. We have to win this series. I'm not sugarcoating anything. Hey, we've got to play good baseball. We've got to beat teams that we feel
