I can hear the phone call now. Jerry Reinsdorf calling Ken Williams the GM of the Chicago White Sox.
Reinsdorf will have the WTF sound in his voice as he asked Kenny to explain the first two months of the 2011 Palehose season. Kenny will try and say be patient its early.. Adam Dunn really isn't this bad. John Danks has had some bad luck. Rios really won't hit .200 all year. He will say okay Matt Thornton is not a closer but we have Santos. As Williams hems and haws Jerry is looking over his desk calender with a big red circle over the trading deadline date in July. Then Jerry hears Williams try to put blame on the baserunning or the pitchers not holding on the runners to give AJ a chance to throw them out. Then Jerry flips the calender to June and circles another date. June 20. June 20 is the date Reinsdorf has in mind. If he doesn't see a turn around the axe will fall. Be it Ozzie, Kenny or the coaching staff things must change. You can't have a payroll and a motto of All In and expect the man who is signing the million dollar checks to sit back and still be patient. Reinsdorf patience has lasted long enough. Truth be told if Reinsdorf was 20 years younger he would not have gone all in this season. He would have rebuilt. He would have told Kenny to let the old guys like Konerko, Dunn, AJ and Pierre play somewhere else in 2011. He would of told Kenny he wants to rebuild.
Well June 20 is when they might start that rebuilding.
Who can they trade? Lets start with who has any value. Maybe Buehrle, Danks, Thornton, Rameriez. Beckham trade value as dropped since the middle of last season. The only thing they can do now is hope that the team that they have can turn it around. But with such a low turnout of fans this season the Sox are losing millions of dollars. Who knows maybe June 20 is the day that Kenny gets his pink slip. Don't forget the 3 million that went to Manny last September.

Is it too early for Twins White Sox to be do or die?
It might be too late. Both these teams have a long way to go to catch up to the Tribe. The Tribe looks good this year. Not sure if either team will catch them. White Sox and Twins might be fighting each other to stay out of last place.

Jerry Who Do You Let Go First? Kenny or Ozzie?
Well if I could play Mr. Jerry Reinsdorf for a few minutes I would have to fire someone. But luckly for Ken Williams and Ozzie the Bulls are in a middle of a championship run. If I were JR I would be ignoring the complete failure of the White Sox and just enjoying Derrick Rose and the Bulls.
But come June when Adam Dunn is still hitting .210 and Paulie is hurt with a hand injury and Peavy has only started two games in the bigs someone will be fired. As Donald "the birther" Trump would say. My first firing would be Kenny. He is the one that has spent 125 million dollars of my money. He told me to go all in. That AJ would hit, Peavy would pitch, Dunn would have 40 home runs, that Morel could play, that Rios would be a .290 hitter, that Thorton could close out games. Yes he sold me on this is the team that can go all the way. Not. Beckham might have potential but I don't think so. His theme song should be "Up In The Air" because he pops everything up. If he is not striking out.
Don't even bring up trade. You have nothing to trade. That is why Kenny is fired. The only player as of May 1, 2011 that you can trade is Carlos Quentin. Rios has a bad toe and can't hit, AJ can't throw anyone out, Pierre has slowed down and is no longer able to steal bases. Really maybe Ramierz can be traded. He is your most talented player and he is 30 years old. Not a very good team right now. Dunn is overpaid, Konerko is overpaid. Face it Kenny has went all in and all he had was a pair of fives.
I would bring up the kids from the farm at this point. Chicago White Sox fans will not pay to see this team. They are 10 games out of first and its only May. My gosh is going to be a long summer. How soon until we play the National League. I think the Sox have a couple guys they can bring up.
Yes cut bait. Let AJ go for a pair of balls, see if anyone will take Buehrle and just cash it in. Dunn is fat and when he chews gum like a cow that is exactly what he looks like. A cow.
I am not saying Ozzie's job is safe but Ozzie never wanted a home run hitting, slow running team. And that is what they have. The Sox are sub-par in LF, 3B, 2B, C and CF. Their starting pitching is good. The bullpen is bad. I hate to say it but this team gets along with each other too well. They like each other. No one will ride another guy. No one will get on someone ass. Or in their face. It's time for a little 78 Bronx Zoo on the South Side. Sometimes hate motivates us to be better at what we do. Maybe we need some haters on this team and not so many buddy buddies.

White Sox Just Who We Thought They Were
Many Sox fans thought I was off base with my first blog of the season. But so far and yes I know it's only 14 games into the season but the 2011 White Sox are just a .500 team. The defense so far as been poor and the hitting is hot and cold just like they were when they had Thome in the lineup a couple years ago. Adam Dunn hitting .250 and batting third is a step down when Thome was on the Sox. This year Rios is having a bad three weeks at the plate. Maybe its the cold weather or maybe its another bad year for him.
Chris Sale is not the closer people thought he could be after he was giving a chance when Thornton failed to close out games. It looks like Santos will be the one called to fill that role on this team.
If the Sox get swept by the LAA tomorrow the White Sox will be looking forward to get out of this cold weather and head down to the Trop in Tampa. Tampa has been red hot since leaving Chicago earlier this week.

2011 Palehose look like 2009 Palehose
The talk out of Glendale is this is the team that might make the World Series. With a payroll of well over 100 million dollars the White Sox brass is wishing this is the team that gets them back to the fall classic.
But any real fan with any knowledge know this 2011 White Sox is not all that. With a DH of Adam Dunn that has not looked any better than a bad Jim Thome and a third baseman that hits alot like Josh Fields I don't see how this team is any better than 2009 and its not even as close to the 2010 team that was not to far away from winning the Central last year.
If Sox fans think Konerko is going to do what he did last year I have news for them. He won't hit any where close to the numbers hit put up in 2010. This team still has A.J. behind the plate and still have not seen him throw out anyone trying to steal second. One thing that will stay the same is Hawk Harrelson telling the same old boring stories from the 1950's and 60's. Can you say boring. Wow talk about kids getting bored watching the game. My gosh Hawk stop telling these old time stories. While you are at it stop saying how great the Twins are. Please. Okay let me get back to this 2011 team. In left field you have Juan Pierre who has one of the weakest arms in the league. Really the only above average player the Sox have is Rios and Rameriz. Other then that they are below average in right field, second base, catcher and third base. How can you win a title with that. The pitching? No. Again over rated. Floyd and Danks are again just average pitchers. Buehrle is going into 2011 as a below average pitcher. The only starter with an above average arm on the team is Edwin Jackson.
Of course Jake Peavy is a guy you can't count on. If he pitches fine but lets not kid ourselves. He may come back and start a few games but we won't see him until May. Can Chris Sale be as good as he was in September? Normally when you have a good start in the majors it's because the hitters haven't figure your stuff out yet. Matt Thorton will be okay but I don't see him getting too many saves in 2011.
Sorry White Sox fans but it looks like a long boring season on the south side.
